Nes Gard – Where Fjord, Mountain, and People Meet

"It’s worth its weight in gold to have such a good integration between our PMS and booking site."

At Nes Gard in Norway, the philosophy is simple: “Der fjord, fjell og folk møtes”—where fjord, mountains, and people meet. For Anders Månum, who runs the boutique property, it’s the guests who make it truly special. With only 20 rooms, the stay feels cozy and personal, and many guests get to know each other over a meal, at the wine bar in the old pigsty, or while relaxing by the pier and sauna.

When Anders took over from his parents, VisBook was already at the heart of operations. The system had been a natural fit for managing Nes Gard’s rooms, bookings, and daily work. What was missing, however, was an integrated online booking solution.

“After checking different providers, we quickly found that BookVisit had the best solution with the best user interface, and most importantly, a very good integration with VisBook,” Anders explains.

That integration has transformed Nes Gard’s workflows. With VisBook as the PMS, and BookVisit seamlessly connected, booking and administration take far less time. Employees across the property can now handle bookings with ease, and the analytical tools within VisBook help Anders set sales goals and track results.

The results are clear: more guests now book directly through Nes Gard’s own channels. “It is very positive that we get more bookings through our own booking site instead of other booking sites that take a high commission,” says Anders. Upselling is also easier, as guests can add extra services directly during the booking process.

VisBook’s automation and communication tools also enhance the guest journey. Automated emails before and after a stay help build trust and ensure a smoother experience from start to finish.

Looking ahead, Anders and his team continue to rely on VisBook’s reporting and analysis features to guide decisions, measure success, and plan for growth.

His advice for other hoteliers? “It’s worth its weight in gold to have a good integration between the PMS and the booking site. With BookVisit as Channel Manager and VisBook as the backbone, there is less risk of double bookings and mistakes, and you spend much less time on administration.”
