Privacy is very important at VisBook

The importance of privacy applies not just to our users but also to those who visit our website. We also think it is important to be transparent and clear about what this means in practice. Below you can read how we process personal data and how we discharge our responsibility to those who visit our website.

What are personal data and cookies?

Personal data is anything that can identify you personally: your name, address, personal ID number, e-mail address and so on. Apart from personal data, there are things called cookies. Cookies are small files that are sent to your computer by your browser (unless you have disabled cookies) when you visit a website. Their function is to collect information about how you as a visitor use the website, most often for us to create a relevant experience for you. Cookies constitute a special category, as the Data Inspection Authority  has not decided whether they should be classified as personal data or not.

VisBook chooses to treat cookies as if they were subject to the Data Protection Act, which means that legally speaking they are handled in the same way as your personal data. We believe privacy is extremely important. But it is also important for us to be able to store your cookies to be able to create a relevant experience.

Why does VisBook store personal data?

The fundamental reason why we store your personal data is that we want to build a good relationship with you. We want to be able to invite you to events, send you newsletters, share insights with you, and so on. In other words: to let you know what is happening at VisBook. We also store cookies to give you the best possible experience of our website. Cookies enable us to give you as relevant an experience as possible and perhaps also recommend content to you that you have not seen before but that we think could be valuable for you. You can of course also use our website without cookies.

If you have provided your e-mail address to us during a visit to our website the cookie can be linked to your e-mail address. It is precisely that e-mail address which enables us, with your consent, to send you suggestions for more in-depth reading in the area that you are interested in, such as guides and blog posts.

How and what personal data do you store?

Personal data is stored in three different ways: on our website, by our partners and as cookies on your computer.
If you have accepted cookies these will be stored as you move around our website. Otherwise, personal data will be stored when you:

  • Download a guide or other file using a form on our site
  • Otherwise disclose personal data to us digitally, for example by registering for a course, event or seminar, filling in a contact form, etc.

The personal data we store depends on which data you have provided to us.

Who may access my personal data?

We use the following services where we store your personal data

HubSpot: A marketing automation system. You can read more about which cookies HubSpot uses here.
Google Analytics: An analysis tools that are used, for example, to identify what visitors to the website consider most interesting.
Facebook and LinkedIn: We use these partly to see how successful (or unsuccessful!) our advertising on Facebook and LinkedIn has been.

How long do you store cookies and can I delete them?

We store cookies only for as long as they are needed for the purpose for which they are used.

How you delete cookies depends on which web browser you are using. You can find instructions in the browser interface or on the website for the browser. A few common web browsers and information about how to delete cookies in them (click for external link):

How do we protect the personal data you collect?

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and implement several technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data. Technical safeguards include things like firewalls, encryption functions and antivirus software while organisational safeguards relate to the organisation of our security work, security procedures, instructions and policies. In cases where we use partners to handle your data, we ensure that we only use partners who also take the handling of personal data very seriously and are able to show that they have implemented equivalent safeguards and handle the data securely.
